Coach Wells was named the first coach in the program's history on November 29, 2001.
Prior to his arrival at Endicott, Coach Wells had been the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL). Wells helped the Titans to the first back-to-back College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships since 1964-65. He also served as Associate Director of Admissions and Recruiting Coordinator for all eighteen of IWU's varsity sports.
He began his coaching career in 1991 as the tight ends coach at Brown University (Providence, RI). He has coached two stints at Trinity College (Hartford, CT) as offensive line coach (1992-93) and offensive coordinator (1998), as well as serving as the offensive line coach at Bates College (Lewiston, ME) from 1994-95. Coach Wells also spent an additional two years at the University of Chicago as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator from 1996-97.
Coach Wells received a B.A. in History from Trinity College (Hartford, CT) in 1991, and a M.Ed. from Endicott College in 2005. At Trinity, Wells was a three-year letter winner at guard and center and earned the college's prestigious Blanket Award in Athletics, presented to athletes who earn 10 or more varsity letters in four years.
Coach Wells resides in Danvers with his wife, Lisa, and their three children, Caitlyn (7), Mackenzie (5) and Finn (2).
