Springfield, Mass. - Back-to-back defending conference champion Endicott College has been voted to finish second in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Preseason Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll that was published on Tuesday afternoon.
Endicott, winners of consecutive conference titles, finished 2007 with a 13-6 overall record. The Gulls knocked-off top-seeded Gordon College in the conference finals to advance to their second NCAA Tournament in as many years.
Gordon College (13-3, 9-0 last year) received six of the 10 first-place votes in the 2008 TCCC preseason poll. Endicott was selected by the coaches as the runner-up in the conference and received two first-place votes. Western New England was picked to finish third and received one first-place vote. Curry was picked to finish fourth, while Roger Williams and Colby-Sawyer each received one first-place vote and were picked to finish fifth and sixth respectively.
Teams received 11 points for every first place vote received, 10 points for second place votes, nine points for third place votes, down to one point for a last place vote. First place votes are shown in parentheses.
